Privacy Policy

SmartReelz is operated by Escalate LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy covers smartreelz.app, the SmartReelz Studio, and SmartReelz Desktop.

What we collect

Your account

• Email address, name, and profile image. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google, along with the sign-in tokens Google issues.
• Password, if you create one. We store only a one-way bcrypt hash, never the password itself.
• Short-lived links for email verification, sign-in, and password reset. Each expires within 20 minutes and is deleted once used.

What you tell us about your app

To make a demo we need to know the app it is about. That includes the address of your app, branding you upload (name, logo, colours), the demo briefs and steps you write, the knowledge base SmartReelz builds about your app, your answers to its questions, and your conversation with the orchestrator in the Studio.

What we capture from your app

SmartReelz drives a real browser through your app. While it does, it reads the pages it visits (their address, title, and a text outline of the page’s structure) and records video, screenshots, browser traces, and a structured log of each action. From those we produce timelines, narration scripts, voiceover audio, and the finished video.

Passwords for the app you are demoing

We do not store passwords for the app being demoed. When a demo needs you to sign in, SmartReelz hands control of the browser to you and you sign in yourself; what you type is not saved as data or recorded as a step. Anything visible on screen while recording is running can appear in the recording, so sign in during the hand-off rather than on camera. Please do not paste passwords into briefs, chat messages, or answers — those are stored as ordinary text.

Billing

Payments are handled by Stripe on Stripe’s own pages. Card details never reach our servers. We keep your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, its billing period, and how much of your allowance you have used.

SmartReelz Desktop

When you connect a computer, we record a name for it, its operating system and architecture, and the versions of the app and browser it runs, so we can route work to it. Its access token is stored in your operating system’s keychain. The desktop app holds no keys to our database, storage, or AI providers; everything it does goes through our servers under your account.

Logs

Our servers keep operational logs to diagnose failures. They can include your email address (for example, on a failed sign-in), the browser’s user-agent and error details when the Studio reports a problem, and the output of agent steps, which can contain text from your app’s pages. Our hosting providers keep their own request logs, which include IP addresses.

How we use it

• To run your account, sign you in, and send verification and password-reset email.
• To plan, record, narrate, and render your demos, and to fix them when you ask.
• To bill you and enforce your plan’s limits.
• To diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.

We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers below. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Google user data

If you sign in with Google, we request only your basic profile (name, email address, profile picture). We use it solely to create your account and sign you in, and we do not transfer it to anyone else. SmartReelz’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who processes it for us

• Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI — AI models that plan, script, and narrate demos. They receive your app’s page content, your briefs, steps, knowledge base, and conversation.
• OpenAI and ElevenLabs — text-to-speech. They receive the narration script.
• Stripe — payments and subscriptions.
• Resend — transactional email.
• Neon — our database.
• Cloudflare — storage for recordings, audio, and videos.
• Vercel and Railway — hosting for the website and the recording service.
• Google — sign-in, if you choose it.

These providers are based in, or process data in, the United States.

Storage and security

Recordings, audio, and videos are kept in private storage and are reachable only through short-lived links issued to the account that owns them. Data is encrypted in transit, and our providers encrypt it at rest.

Cookies

We set one cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. Your browser also stores your theme and panel layout preferences locally. There are no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your account and its content for as long as your account exists. There is not yet a self-serve way to delete an account, project, or demo, so email support@smartreelz.app from the address on your account and we will delete your account and everything in it — including stored recordings and videos — within 30 days. Operational logs roll over on their own, and Stripe keeps payment records it is legally required to keep.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or California law), you may have further rights, including complaining to your data protection authority. Email support@smartreelz.app and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

SmartReelz is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

When this policy changes, we update the effective date above. For material changes, we will email account holders before they take effect.
